About Estate Sales and Appraisals

We handle appraisals and estate sales for furniture, residential contents, antiques, china, glass, decorative arts, porcelain and silver. Accredited member of the Int'l Society of Appraisers, Mr. Laird is a graduate gemologist, schooled at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Brant has been a dealer of primarily European furniture since 1984 and has had a free-standing shop since 1990. Brant regularly attends seminars to expand his knowledge and is required to re-qualify for his accredited appraiser status on a regular basis. Rates for on-site examination, research, document preparation, and other appraisal services begin at $150 per hour with a two hour minimum. The charge for travel time is $75 per hour.

We can offer both un-researched verbal opinions of value as well as completed written appraisal documents, for certain charitable donation, insurance replacement and damage claims. We have been handling estate sales since 1990. We work with executors, attorneys, trust officers and individuals to liquidate residential contents particularly contents containing quality furniture and antiques. Our estate sales are renowned attracting collectors, dealers, designers and the public. We provide an inventory list prior to the sale and an extensive reconciliation after the sale.

We specialize in Park Cities and Preston Hollow estates. References are available upon request. Services are based on commission. The commission is based on the size of the estate. We have an email list of contacts that we contact prior to the sale (details below) and we advertise in local newspapers. We are organized, efficient, fair, and reasonable. We have the ability to research arts, cabinet makers, and manufacturers to ascertain the correct values. We have a vast and loyal following who can vouch for the success of any sale that we handle.
